Three Days in July: Gettysburg - 1863
Three Days in July chronicles events before, during, and after the great Battle of Gettysburg, often through the lens of the town’s residents and those so engaged. The genre is historical narrative nonfiction, specifically: the American Civil War. The manuscript is presented through a series of vignettes that collectively tell the story and is the first in a series of four manuscripts that have been completed pertaining to the events of 1863.

Anaconda: Vicksburg & the Blockade - 1863
The assault on Vicksburg was one leg of what became known as the Anaconda Plan, the Union’s strategy to squeeze the life out of the Confederacy with a naval blockade of Southern ports and domination of the Mississippi River, a seemingly impossible proposition. At war’s beginning the Union counted only twenty-four warships available to patrol thirty-five hundred miles of Southern coastline, and Vicksburg, the key to the Mississippi’s occupation, was described as impenetrable as Gibraltar.
The fascinating story of how the Union overcame incredible obstacles to cripple the South’s capacity to make war.
